10,000 + votes!
5 Feb 2010The Welsh Curry House of the Year 2010 competition has attracted the largest public response since it was established in 2007. A record breaking 10,000 votes were received by the Festivals Company who produce the annual search for the best Indian Restaurant in Wales.
"The response has been spectacular with just over 10,000 votes (up by a staggering 4,000 from 2009) registered by the Welsh public for their favourite Indian restaurants. 200 Indian restaurants in Wales, almost 70%, received votes during the 2010 competition," said Berwyn Rowlands from the Festivals Company.
"We’ve seen a steady increase in the number of votes received year on year, but nothing could have prepared the team for the increase we saw this year. Some 7,000 postcards were received by post with an extra 3,000 voted registered online," he added.
The competition is produced by The Festivals Company and is sponsored by Kingfisher Lager, the Welsh Assembly Government, Really Welsh and Buzz magazine.
