14 Jan 2009

The Festivals Company has been awarded a contract to distribute the new S4C feature film Cwcw, marking the first theatrical tour of an S4C feature since the Oscar nominated Solomon & Gaenor in 1999.

The contract will involve the company co-ordinating a theatrical tour in cinemas throughout Wales, a number of education events and the opening night premiere.

"We’re very excited to be working on this project. S4C have a great track record for supporting film in Wales and have a number of Oscar nominations to add weight to this fact," said Berwyn Rowlands

Cwcw is written and directed by Delyth Jones is the story of Jane Jones a Cardiff scriptwriter for the successful soap series "Meddyg Teulu" (Family Doctor). Approaching 40, Jane is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Her only comfort is the writing of Virginia Woolf and she longs for the artistic and personal freedom of her heroine as well as her meaningful and creative existence based on truth.
