British Council Wales Short Films
1 - 31 Mar 2008The Festivals Company has produced a series of 14 short films for the British Council Wales as part of a development and research project.
The films (which vary between 1 to 2 minutes in length) depict three participants talking about the benefits of working and studying abroad through the assistance of the British Council.
The three participants were Marc Rees, the renowned Welsh artist who’s worked abroad extensively through Wales Arts International and the British Council, David Pedwell, the Headmaster of Oakfield Primary School in Cardiff who recently travelled to China through the assistance of the British Council Wales to make partnership links with a school in Chongqing (pronounced Chongching), and Lowri Jones, a Cardiff University graduate who studied abroad through the Erasmus scheme, which is now administered by the British Council Wales.
"What we wanted to clearly communicate through the series of films was the amazing opportunities offered by the British Council Wales to anyone looking to work or study abroad in order to establish and develop international relationships" says James Nee from The Festivals Company. "Therefore, we wanted to keep the films as simple as possible and let people who’ve benefitted from the British Council’s support relate their experiences to camera with little or no direction from ourselves. Each participant’s experience was so different and interesting, we were confident that the films would spark people’s interest in wanting to find out more about working abroad through the assistance of the British Council".
The Festivals Company would like to thank Marc, David and Lowri for giving their time to take part in the short films. To view the films please click here.
