Cardiff's Indian Food Festival 2008
1 - 31 Mar 2008Cookery demonstrations, Welsh lamb, Bollywood dancing, cookery master classes, cinema and the unveiling of a new curry for the capital city are just some of the highlights of Cardiff’s Indian Food Festival 2008.
Five of the Capital’s best Indian restaurants have come together to present a feast for the senses throughout March with each preparing a special menu during the festival to delight even the most jaded of palette. The festival restaurants are Spice Merchant, Cinnamon Tree, Spice Route, Punithas and Mango House.
Festival organiser Berwyn Rowlands said, "Visit any of the five restaurants and you can also try out the brand new Cardiff Curry that will be available
throughout the festival. What is in it? Find out by visiting the restaurants and discover the city’s new signature dish. You could be very surprised what the five chefs have come up with which reflect not only the diversity and flavours of the capitol city but also challenges some misconceptions about food from the Indian sub-continent."
Each of the restaurants has special events planned during the month so customers can not only learn more about our most popular food, try something new and discover the remarkably diverse and high quality cuisine that is on offer but also to join in the fun.
All five restaurants will be bringing their own chef’s expertise to a gala dinner on March 31 at the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay in aid of Help a South Wales Child. Tickets for the event are available from the Red Dragon on 029 2094 2955.To see the full programme go to the festival website.
The festival is produced by the Festivals Company and is sponsored by Meat Promotion Wales and Kingfisher.
